Since ar.wikipedia does not seem to have the PDF generation tool in it's interface, perhaps it would be best if you uploaded two screenshots showing the problem. It might also be helpful to list an example of two letters that when joined produce the joined glyph. It is always a good idea to give the developers really exact examples, especially if script issues are in play.

PDF made with PDF tool at Arabic Wikisource of page [[ويكي مصدر]]

I have attached a PDF of [[ويكي مصدر]], a redirect page on Arabic Wikisource.
The title should appear as
ويكي مصدر
(letters connected when appropriate).
However the result is:
ر‌د‌ص‌م‌‌ي‌ك‌ي‌و‌

I also think magic words are not handled properly.

I found this problem in all Arabic / Indic Script pages in several wikis. Please find attachments from English wikipedia

  1. Arabic.png & Arabic.pdf – from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic#Examples
  2. Indic.png & Indic.pdf from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Indic_text#Check_for_existing_support

The original example of this ticket [1] now renders fine (at least for my non-export eye). Therefore I am closing this ticket

Thanks for pointing out the example at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic . This example currently has some problems with diacritics/non-spacing marks. This can be fixed by using a suitable font. This happens in ticket 30326.

Please keep issues regarding indic scripts separate
