Note there are 2 distinct types of Kindle UA's
Kindle 1.0 and 2.0 with Netfront

I believe they use different webkit versions on the different kindle 3.0 editions that they have.
In the Ruby server, the formats are kindle and kindle2. I believe both used the 'simple' layout, but i'm not 100% sure.
I'm redirected to the mobile site on my Amazon Kindle, 3rd Generation. Seems to be fixed.
