No duplicate, but wrong summary.

triyork wrote:

Before closing: please activate transwiki from hz to incubator and transwiki the pages with a text as "Moved: ..." to incubator. They should be interwikified and not copied. Afterwards, please delete them.

Is it possible to enable the normal XML-upload import? Because this (importing pages from closed projects to Incubator) will happen more times.

triyork wrote:

It is. I think if you are in the group "import" you can do this. If not, the developers have to give the "importupload" right.

So we are requesting to enable the "importupload" right on Incubator as discussed at [[incubator:Incubator:Community_Portal#moving_to_incubator]].

Thanks.

Actually, any sysop should be able to import a page (in addition to those with the import permission).

No, I can only import pages from Meta, Commmons and en:
That is the "transwiki import"

I want to correct my #c8: We are requesting what MF-Warburg said in #c7: enable the "import group" if sysops can import XML-files with that group. Otherwise enable the "importupload" right.

bugs wrote:

Yeah... but the import group seems to be already enabled, we're asking on [[m:RFP]] for them to set some of us to the import group

I (User:SPQRobin), User:Cbrown1023 and User:MF-Warburg do now have import rights.

Now I want to ask if we could import via transwiki. We already can do this with Meta, Commons and en:, but it would be easier if we can do this with all projects. It is not very important, but it should be easier.
Thanks.

I really don't think that's possible.

It is possible, but would be not needed (we only import one time from a project).

The Herero Wikipedia is now imported [[:incubator:Wp/hz]] and can be closed.

(In reply to comment #14)

It is possible, but would be not needed (we only import one time from a
project).

If we want to import the Main Page of a wiki, it is very useful, then we can change the page name. Because if we import a Main Page with file upload, it will merge with the existing history of [[incubator:Main Page]], as already happened :(

(In reply to comment #14)

The Herero Wikipedia is now imported [[:incubator:Wp/hz]] and can be closed.

We can import projects when they are already closed, so it is not necessary to report this.

I have just seen on [[m:Help:Import#Editing_the_import_file]] that we can edit that file. I have tried this and it is a little bit difficult to edit, but it is possible :-)

So what I said in comment #12 is not more necessary.

Please delete those spam/crap pages there before. see [[:hz:Special:Whatlinkshere/Template:Delete]]

I'm not a sysop on those wikis. Please find someone with sufficient rights to remove those articles first.

triyork wrote:

I am a sysop there, but I couldn't delete becuase the database was locked. Now I did, so you can re-lock the db.

jeluf wrote:

Why do you request page deletion when you can do it yourself?

Can you please also do the deletions for the other to-be-locked wikis?

triyork wrote:

No, I can't, I'm not a sysop there, only for http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10706 (Chamorro Wikipedia), where I do.

Opening this bug as log the wiki is open.
