Show / Hide Toggle for CategoryBrowser
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description:
We use CategoryBrowser extensively... (see link below)
I have never found any problems/bugs with it and we like it very much.
With that said, I would like to request a new feature be added.

Some of our articles can have 20+ categories and this leads to a large, unwieldy list at the bottom. Could we have a show / hide toggle added to the top right hand corner of the section? I envision something akin to the Table of Contents toggle.

Aside from that, it might have a setting that allows administrators to default it to 'hidden' or 'displayed', from LocalSettings.php.

Jamie: So this request is about having a list with one category per line, instead of the current box with basically one single line of all categories and linebreaks? Or just about a show/hide toogle? Or both?

The category browser is slated for removal (T298553: Remove Skin::drawCategoryBrowser and $wgUseCategoryBrowser), the listed wiki doesn't use the category browser anymore (and now being a Fandom-wiki, wouldn't be able to benefit from a feature request here without coordination with them), has been left unanswered for years and there is no-one subscribed to this task anymore. I'm henceforth declining it.
