Counting number of contributions
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Would it be possible to turn the lists in "User contributions" into numbered
lists. Also add the 'total contributions' to the top of the list. Currently if
I want to find out how many edits I have done I select '500' and go forward
until there are no more, then '250', then '100', etc. which is very time consuming.

this was filed against 1.4, but there's no point implementing it in 1.4 and then

this can't be done in 1.5 because the user contributions is now filtered by date
offset, not number offset. therefore when viewing a particular page we don't
know how many edits were preceeding this one. however, if you want to count the
number of edits, there is a 'Editcount' extension in CVS to do this.

That is a shame. Will the editcount extension be implemented on Wikipedia?
That is where I would find it most useful.

The Contributionseditcount extension in CVS allows the display of edit counts at
the top of Special:Contributions

Current versions of MediaWiki display your edit count on your user preferences page (not sure when this was introduced, but it resolves my reason for requesting this feature).
