Description:
East Syriac font

Dear Friends,
Can you please add the attached fonts to the Aramaic Language. They represent the two common forms of Syriac Aramaic i.e. Eastern and Western. The fonts are distributed freely under http://www.bethmardutho.org/index.php/resources/fonts.html which gives the right to use and distribute them.
N.B. I was only able to attach one font for Eastern Syriac, I will try to attach the one for Western Syriac (SyrCOMUrhoy).
Many thanks

Sure this will be very helpful tool.

WebFonts extension development is stopped and the functionality is available as part of Universal Language Selector (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/UniversalLanguageSelector) extension.

So changing the component of the bug accordingly.

Do you need to make any of the fonts(East Syriac Adiabene, SertoUrhoy) as default font for syc language? If so which font?

I would say NO. We need to keep the same default as the Internet Explorer (Estarngelo Edessa). Syriac is written in three forms. Eastern, Western, and Estranglo which is common between both Eastern and Western, that is why it was the default in the first place. Because some other internet browsers do not use "Estarngelo Edessa" as their default font, I would suggest to add Estarngelo Edessa font as well and make it the default for all the other internet browsers if possible. Thank you folks.

Done. The fonts are also mapped to syc and arc language codes.

Thank you folks for your efforts, would that be added to the Aramaic Wikipedia? If so, when would it be available? Thanks again.

Thank you folks for your efforts, would that be added to the Aramaic
Wikipedia?
If so, when would it be available? Thanks again.

It will be available when Universal Language Selector is deployed in Aramaic Wiki. It will happen soon. See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/UniversalLanguageSelector/Deployment/Planning for rough idea.

Hi Folks, there was a mistake in spelling of the default font name. The correct name is "Estrangelo Edessa" not "Estarngelo Edessa" which is causing the wikipedia letters not joining as they should in Aramaic!
For your kind attention. Thanks
