Visual Editor: wrong URL when opening red links and section links from editor
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

When in the visual editor, it is possible to load links in a new tab/window by ctrl+clicking on the link.

For section links and red links the URL this loads is wrong.
Red links lead to: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/<page> e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/This%20Is%20A%20Guaranteed%20Red%20Link

Section links lead to: https://en.wikipedia.org/<page#section> e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/London#History (i.e. /wiki/ is missing from the URI). After a few seconds this redirects to the correct article but ignores the section.

Well for me redlinks seem to be working properly and all other links (including
section links) are exhibiting the behaviour described in bug 51585 (which I'm
about to update).

I'm using Firefox 22/Linux/Monobook. Is this still reproducable on other
systems?
