let me explain it

Sine 20080614, Chinese Wikipedia's articles are growing fast.It has increased more than 1000 articles in two days.Actually, it just increased roughly 300 articles.

So what cause this problem?

The amount of articles in Chinese Wikipedia is growing abnormally fast since
June 14, 2008. The system was shown that about 500 new articles were created
per days (see http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Statistics), but, in fact,
there were only about 100 "real new articles" were created
per days according to
http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Newpages.

Creating new pages is not the only way to increase the number of articles. Adding "[[" to pages (which do not already contain that string) will make them count as "real articles", so adding wikilinks, categories, or images to pages can increase the number of articles without new pages being listed at [[zh:Special:Newpages]]. So if such changes has recently been done on many pages, the article count is (probably) correct.

(Maybe someone has been working on adding links to pages listed on [[zh:Special:DeadendPages]].)

Issue Not DeadendPages. DeadendPages has been less. Now articles have >190000.

Recently, [[zh:User:P-bot]] run an Simplified-Traditional Redirect bot. see [[zh:User:P-bot/简繁重定向]]. Now Simplified-Traditional Redirect page is an article. For example:

[[zh:米格-3战斗机]] is an article, and [[zh:米格-3戰鬥機]] is a Redirect page. But now [[zh:米格-3戰鬥機]] is article count.

Now [[zh:User:P-bot]] stop, article count stop growing.

According to [[zh:User:PhiLiP]] (an SYSOP in zh wiki), some redirect pages that used for redirections between two types of Chinese characters ("Traditional" and "Simplified") were counted as the "real articles".
