On the final upload step, a description is required. Files can be successfully uploaded even when the description isn't supplied.

Works as expected in Chrome and Firefox. Fails in IE6/XP and IE8/Vista.

This is not a duplicate as far as I know - from my knowledge Jeroen made the description optional for WLM uploads. You should check with him whether it's really a dup or not.

Also, if I understand correctly, Ian just left the field empty and submitted the form. I did something more - I removed the description field from the form.

This sounds like what's happening in bug 32469 to Jeroen, and in a user testing video I was sent out to hunt down....IE probably does something funny to make jquery.data not work properly.

I tried in IE6 to reproduce this bug, but could not. Seems like it's no longer an issue. Please reopen with more details if possible.
