On the live wiki, adding "Mozillians" to this text box and clicking "update" causes it to be saved and included on the watchlist:

In the dev wiki, adding "Mozillians" to this text box and clicking "update" causes a page refresh, but no apparent change to the watchlist.

How is this related to Semantic Watchlist?

The original bug report said it was. Now (as noted on the bug there) it looks like a server issue.
