Description:
I've translated some of the Language.php file (based it on English (en),
Croatian (hr) and Serbian (sr) files) and the Messages.php file. No files for
this language existed so far, so I've decided to create them. Can someone
please check these and tell me what else I need to do? Thanks.

I have tried my best to follow the English example and I've also used the
Serbian and Croatian files as guides as well. I've also closely followed
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_localization for directions on how to
do this. If there are any mistakes or errors, please inform me and tell me how
I can be of service.

Grepping "Viki" show up many messages where it has to be replaced with general
namespace Portal, or with {{SITENAME}} if it is not used as namespace. Remember
that all messages must apply to any new wiki, so there is no place for site
specific modifications.

Also there was a syntax error near 'recentchangestext'.

And it would be great if you could check the translations against English ones.
Some messages like allmessagesnotsupportedUI and allmessagesnotsupportedDB have
been updated since they were first translated.

Looks good if you can fix the problems mentioned above.

So, the errors are only in the MessagesBs.php file? The LanguageBs.php file is
good? OK. I have a question about the <nowiki>{{ns}}</nowiki> namespaces.
Some of the lines in Serbian and Croatian files use these namespaces instead of
"Special" or "Wiktionary". I've also added those to this file, but how do I
know that these will be appropriately used on Wiktionary and Wikipedia? (For
example, on the Wiktionary, is <nowiki>{{ns:4}}</nowiki> going to say
''Wiktionary'' or ''Wikipedia''? It should say Wiktionary, right?) Should a
template be created for this? I'll attach the updated file.

About the {{ns}} namespace: is that determined by the Language.php file? (just
wondering if I've answered my own question just now)

latest correction of MessagesBs.php

I made a small correction to the Messages.php file again. Here is the updated
file.

attachment MessagesBs.php ignored as obsolete

{{ns:#}} is a magic keyword and the number refers to namespace index defined in
the LanguageXX.php. And if you don't like numbers you can just use the english
names (for number four it is 'project'), like {{ns:special}}, {{ns:user_talk}}
and {{ns:project}}.

Following entries should use {{SITENAME}}

'aboutsite' => 'O projektu {{ns:4}}',
'anonymous' => 'Anonimni korisnik od {{ns:4}}',
'categoriespagetext' => 'Sledeće kategorije već postoje u {{ns:4}}',
'confirmdeletetext' => '... [[{{ns:4}}:Pravila|pravilima]] {{ns:4}}.', (only the
last one)
'sitetitle' => '{{ns:4}}',
'siteuser' => '{{ns:4}} korisnik $1',
'siteusers' => '{{ns:4}} korisnik (korisnici) $1',

Oh, and compare 'copyrightwarning' to the English:
'copyrightwarning' => 'Please note that all contributions to {{SITENAME}} are
considered to be released under the $2 (see $1 for details). If you don\'t want
your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then don\'t
submit it here.<br />
You are also promising us that you wrote this yourself, or copied it from a
public domain or similar free resource.
<strong>DO NOT SUBMIT COPYRIGHTED WORK WITHOUT PERMISSION!</strong>',

It has second variable $2 too.

LanguageBs.php looks ok to me. And I haven't found any other immediate errors or
mistakes in MessagesBs.php

I assume this ({{ns:special}}, {{ns:user_talk}} and {{ns:project}}) would be
easier to read.

Thank you Niklas and Reinhardt. I have made the mentioned changes to the
MessagesBs.php file. When will the files be uploaded and ready for use? Oh I
had one more question. I've noticed that all the wikis that have these two
files also have a template called "wikivar" that lists what each {{ns}}
namespace is. Do I need to create one like that?

I created [[bs:template:wikivar]] few minutes before your comments.
However it is not available at the sister projects [[bs:special:SiteMatrix#bs]].

I assume that the SITENAME should be 'Wikipedija'.

After Niklas posts LanguageBs.php and MessagesBs.php to SVN this bug will be closed.

You will need to open another request and let all know what SITENAMES should be
used for the sister projects.

Looking at [[bs:]] I can see in the first line:
"Dobrodošli na Wikipediju na bosanskom jeziku!"
This means that you might need to define a GRAMMAR function in LanguageBs.php .
Please compare with
http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/phase3/languages/LanguageSl.php?view=markup

I am neither shure If you would like to implement GRAMMAR later nor if the
actual LanguageBs.php contains GRAMMAR. The change could be done now or later.

balkanboi wrote:

Yes, you created the template on the Wikipedia for Bosnian, and on that one
SITENAME should be Vikipedija (but the people that work on the Bosnian Wikipedia
prefer for some odd reason to have Wikipedija ...even though we don't have a "w"
in our language).

How can I define the SITENAMES? Do I just create a new bug report and list
sitenames for wikipedia, wiktionary, etc?

Thank you all for your help.

spent about 7hrs straight last night translating this stuff not including a week
for earlier translations. I can't wait to actually have this up and running.

Sorry to bother you again, but there were some errors in these files that needed
been fixed. I have tried to fix this in these updates, but I'm not sure if it
will work 100%. In these files I have removed the {{ns:}} numbering and
replaced it with regular namespaces; this does prevent the problem for now, but
wikis that use {{ns:}} in Bosnian language will still have those problems
because {{ns:4}} displays in English and {{ns:5}} is not functioning correctly
(It displays as "Razgovor_o_s_Wikipedia" on Wikipedia, while it should display
as "Razgovor:Vikipedija" or as "Razgovor_o_Vikipediji"). How can this be fixed?

Those would be inconsistent with the format of the other entries, e.g.
"Razgovor_sa_korisnikom" and "Razgovor_o_pomoci".

Wikipediadado wrote:

"Razgovor_sa_korisnikom" and "Razgovor_o_pomoci" are direct translation of the
function. MediaWiki and Wikipedia are names being used untranslated so the
format needs to be a bit different gramatically. We have discussed this at
Bosnian Wiki. See
