I'm really not technically savvy enough to follow almost anything here, and don't have even the fainsest idea whether this is the right place or even exists, and I would appreciate if my email address was not attached to this report.

I made two edits to Wikipedia, while using Internet Exlorer, whatever the latest version of IE is. After making the edits, I clicked on the page histories, and saw that my edits were the last ones made, by seeing my user name at the top of the edit history list for each article. When I started closing the tabs I had opened, the two edits I made revealed my IP address as the person who edited the pages, NOT my user name, although I was signed in when I edited the pages (as I got to them off of my watch list), and had just seen my user name at the top of the pages. I clicked to the first tab where my watch list was, saw it was properly in place and I appeared signed on. Then I right-clicked to open my watchlist in a new tab and it opened in a new tab asking me to log in to Wikipedia. When I went back to the two tabs that had shown my IP address, they now showed that I had edited the pages under my user name, even though Wikipedia was now saying I was not logged in. I'm not making this up. And Wikipedia should never have substituted my IP even for a moment (although I'm assuming it was my IP, as I have no idea what my IP is), unless there is something seriously wrong with the Wikipedia software.

If this isn't the correct place, please do tell me where to report this.
