Indicate number of users watching a page for privileged users
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Sysops should know whether a certain page is watched or not. Currently, [[Special:Unwatchedpages]] lists only 5000 unwatched pages but this is unpractical. There are many wikis with hundreds of thousands of pages (English, German, French Wikipedias, etc). There should be a way (may be a link in the page history beside the "View logs" link) to tell whether a certain page is watched or not.

Apparently the 5000 number is Wikimedia-specific. Perhaps we should consider increasing the limit.

Perhaps we should consider increasing the limit.

I don't think that would solve the problem. We would still have to dwell among those 5000+ pages to find the specific one we're interested in. A better solution would be having a "from" parameter we could use (as we can do for http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:AllPages&from=something (or the much more convenient [[Special:AllPages/something]]) -- this would also be kind of a workaround, but would do the job...

Is part of the action=info for user with the user right 'unwatchedpages' since r4242, but action=info was disabeld for a long time. Due to the InfoAction-Rewrite (see bug 38450) this feature is now available on wmf wikis
