Anonymous users should have a similar interface to logged in users
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

Author: axel9891

Description:
Currently, there is no fast way to access your own contributions whilst logged out (typing in Special:Mycontributions does the trick but it's slow), and same with talk and userpage. I think this should be added to the user interface, similar to a logged in user - just minus things like prefs and watchlist (and of course log out ^_^)

I believe something along these lines is done for wikis other than Wikimedia, but I can't think of any examples right now...

These extra links are disabled primarily for caching reasons; since the same pages are served out to all anonymous users unless an editing session is open, we can't have different links / link status.

It would be possible to label in the talk / contribs / etc links using the Special:Mytalk, Special:Mycontribs redirectors, if that's something we want.

That would make sense. Then it'll provide consistency in the upper right corner links between logged in/logged out users. Plus, then we don't have to check for logged-in status for as many links :)
