Identify links to new users in page histories, watchlists and recent changes
Open, LowPublicFeature

Description

On the ever growing wiki wishlist, let me add a request for the possibility to color code (or otherwise distinguish) new user accounts on watchlists, histories, and related recent changes pages. This is essentially meant as a flag for "I'm new, and my edits may need closer inspection". I realize that redlinks to the user page already have this effect, but because of this, many vandals' first action is to create a user page and talk page. Not to mention that our own advice to new accounts encourages them to create those pages early on.

I'm pretty sure there's an older bug number in here that's pretty much the same thing, but can't find at the moment.

See also eg bug 10789.

We may need to define what's a "new user".

Would the "autoconfirmed" group [1] match this criteria? That would be done with bug 42314
