No easy way to patrol newly created redirects properly
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Author: Wiki.Melancholie

Description:
On RecentChanges the diff link is not given if a page was newly created.
Thus you have to click on the page link. This is suitable for normal pages, but when clicking on a redirect you get redirected!

The "patrol first revision" link is shown for the redirect *on the destination page* then. This is confusing, as you would like to patrol the *redirect page*, that may nest other stuff beside "#REDIRECT [[...]]"!

Solution:
Either add &redirect=no to the redirect page links at Special:RecentChanges (behaviour has been changed some time ago, I think) or add &rcid= to the "Redirected from [[REDIR]]" link shown when being redirected.

I don't find this as an issue. On the landing page, you're presented with the standard "(Redirected from <Article>)" so you know what's going on.

Of course, having this "fixed" wouldn't be undesirable.
