Perhaps a wiki's logo should be incorporated into the Modern Skin. I think that doing this personalizes the Modern Skin a little, and gives it more of a look similar to Monobook. By the way, it is a really nice skin!

The way I do it in my peronsal modern.css is that I have added the 390px version of this pale Wikipedia logo ([[commons:Image:Wikipedia-logo til bruk som bakgrunnsbilde.png]]) as the background for the content part of the page (#mw_content), at the bottom right. But I guess that's not KISS enough for the main skin, so another solution would be needed to incorporate a logo.
The logo for a site is completely different than the skin. For example, we have logo change requests that are meant to be changes no matter what the user's skin is.
Based on the URL provided in this bug, I assume that this is referring to the English Wikipedia missing a logo in the Modern skin.

Toolserver customized the header via MediaWiki:Common.css. Fact remains that the Modern-skin does not support nor uses the wgLogo setting.

Chick, simple, cologneblue also do not feature $wgLogo. I think it would be better if nostalgia didn't :) I have no idea how the logo could fit into the Modern look - a piece of random graphics just does not belong here. Toolserver wiki is an exception with a carefully-designed image for this very purpose.
