In addition to bug 889 https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=889
- Commons should likewise indicate impending name collisions with e.g. images on
any of the local projects (Wikipedia, Wikibooks, etc.).
- Additionally, where collisions already exist (legacy issue), there should be a warning displayed on the image page, and possibly a list of such collided images added to the "Special" namespace.
These suggestions seem not to have been considered in the closure of 889, which is fine since they arose during subsequent discussion. Nonetheless, these problems should be addressed.
