If I reply to a discussion the Special:Newmessages page shows me the root of the thread along with a '''Read''' button which says it will "Remove this thread from new messages."

It would be much more useful if it showed me the new message(s) in the thread or at least provided a link to the entire thread.

(I'm also not sure it is useful to flag it as a new message if I posted it, but that is perhaps a design decision not a bug.)
