The page Special:ExpandTemplates could be improved a lot by adding some argument boxes which would take the values of the arguments of the templates, both numbered and named. This would allow one to fully expand them and experiment with different arguments. Now, the only way to see what happens with certain arguments is to save the template and see what it does. This leads to a lot of unnecessary edits. (One could make a temporary template and experiment with it before merging into the template one wants to change, but that doesn’t change my point.)
