Special:Category does not work proper after upgrade
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Author: friedel.voelker

Description:
After upgrading to 1.13.x Special:Category shows and counts only the articles saved after the upgrade.

Example:
Our wiki contains a lot (>800) articles assigned to the category 'Pforzheim'.
On http://www.pfenz.de/wiki/Spezial:Kategorien it shows only a count of 6.
If you click on http://www.pfenz.de/w/index.php?title=Kategorie:Pforzheim the full list is available.

We run MediaWiki 1.13.2 - I cross checked with 1.13.0 on http://wiki.rhein-neckar.de/index.php/Spezial:Kategorien same problem here.

Version: 1.13.x
Severity: major

Is this still a problem now that you've upgraded to 1.15 ? Are there things missing from before 1.13 ?

Things seem fine since the upgrade to 1.15. We will update to 1.16 soon.. I don't think there is need to take care of this strange effect with 1.13.

The category table was introduced in 1.13 (aka we changed how we count how many articles are in a category to be more efficient). If i was too guess, you probably need to run the populateCategory.php maintenance script when updating from 1.12 to 1.13.

Changing all WONTFIX high priority bugs to lowest priority (no mail should be generated since I turned it off for this.)
