Size limit for revision and diff displays (for slow connections)
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Author: mapellegrini

Description:
When looking at a revision or a diff between two revisions, users should have the ability to limit the size of the revision or diff that gets displayed. This would be useful for admins who have slow connections, or who need to look at large pages (for example, to use oversight).

But which size limit sounds feasible? I don't see how to define "slow" in a way that works for everybody - your slow might not be my slow.
If discussing whether to introduce another setting for this, I wonder how often this is a real problem and in which regions.

Also, action=history shows the number of bytes changed (but direct diff links don't).

Recommending to use the mobile interface for this. Or if not available, to look at the size of the revision first.
