Description:
Hebrew Commons interface

Hello,
First of all thank you for all this great work u all have achieved in recent time like improved search.

The Bug that I'm filing concerns Commons. The Arabic interface doesn't behave like the Hebrew interface which should be the case. I mean by that the mirroring of the tools like the toolbox.

Steps to reproduce the intended functionality:
Go to commons
Go to my preferences
Change the language to Hebrew (he)

Result= All of the interface gets mirrored. The toolbox, logo and search go to the right and the Username to the left.

Steps to produce the bug:
Go to commons
Go to my preferences
Change the language to Arabic (ar)

Result= The whole interface stays the same and only the language keywords change.

What to do= Make the Arabic Interface behave like the Hebrew interface.

This is not a MediaWiki bug, because Commons [[commons:Monobook.js]] has this line

importScript('Mediawiki:Monobook.js/' + wgUserLanguage);

which imports specific configuration (written in JS) for the used interface language.

Of course, there is [[commons:MediaWiki:Monobook.js/he]] but there is no [[commons:MediaWiki:Monobook.js/ar]].

Perhaps you should ask for help at Village pump there.

I don't see why this can be implemented in the hebrew language commons configuration and not in the arabic.

Actually it is, see bug 6100.

Maybe, but MediaWiki has nothing to do with switching the interface for Hebrew and not switching for Arabic.

I don't see why this can be implemented in the hebrew language commons
configuration and not in the arabic.

I think it has been implemented already for Arabic as of yesterday. Of course it's only switching the interface for Arabic, but i asked one of the admins there to update the Arabic script, so that it can do a small translation stuff for images information.
