Hiding a username should not remove useful links to user contribs
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

When a username is hidden, the links to user contribs and the like should still exist, but should show only the userid, not the name. Currently, when viewing a contrib made by a hidden user, the links to the userpage or contribs are missing. Example: see linked url.

  1. The diff view should show something like this, at a first pass:

    user 195820 (contribs)
  1. A further improvement could allow showing also any remaining logs and user/talk pages if they are not deleted, rewriting them to use user ids instead of the original name... I'm not sure how to do that efficiently, however. user 195820 (talk | contribs | block) special:centralauth/user:195820 / user_talk:ditto / blocklog and related special pages

This has nothing to do with CentralAuth's global hiding. AFAICT, HideUser is doing what it is supposed to here & I would suggest a WONTFIX. Changing product, component, and adding Aaron to CC.

Closed. I may add a (contribs) link to Special:RevisionDelete for some extra convenience though.
