"zh-tw.wikipedia.org" exists, and was redirected to "zh.wikipedia.org".

Rob, go ahead and set up the variant URL aliases (/zh-hans /zh-cn etc). I'm a little less certain about the subdomains; I'd rather keep variant usage stricter.

I have set the aliases in the main.conf of the apache config files. I have also set the wgVariantArticlePath in InitiliseSettings.php to allow the project to use them.

The changes have been pushed and both Fred and I are looking, yet it does not seem to be functioning properly. Just updating the ticket with progress as we go.

r55415 has solved these disabled variants problem now.

So add a /zh/ instead.

Bumping this to a blocker. This is causing indefinite redirecting on zhwikisource and other zh- sites (other than zhwiki). This happens to anonymous user (almost) every time.

404 for "/zh-cn/", redirected to another 404 "/zh-cn/zh-cn/", and kept adding more "zh-cn".

Can a link be posted here to a bad redirecting URL?

Can anyone disable the short URL in failure projects(wn, ws, wt, wq, wb)? Lots of people is questions this bug, they all cannot access these sites by ANONYMOUS.

Added /zh alias (there's a tab for plain ver that hits it... not 100% sure it should be that way but it works fine :D) and copied the full set of aliases to all the project farm site configurations to fix the 404s.

(Note that some 404s may still appear in cache, so be sure to reload thoroughly before reporting any continued problems!)

REOPENED this bug, the alias does not work on the secure server.

With new https it does work. secure is obsolete.
