Sometimes, I don't care about a thread and want it to go away for a bit. A little [hide] link might be handy.

Hmm, maybe, but I don't think that fits in well with the current design. I was thinking some sort of disclosure indicator on the left.

With the new linear style, I'm thinking that before replies we could have "Replies: [show/hide]".

Maybe this doesn't make sense, though.
