Please wrap the brackets and 'talk' in a span with style="white-space:nowrap;" to avoid linebreaks. See attachment.

Hmmmm IE8 is the only of the current browers who wraps behind parenthesis :-(

IE7 also, in FireFox works. No idea for a other solution.

Maybe wrap the '(talk)' into a span with css-class and add the style to IEFixes.css

Is this the only place it happens? We have links wrapped in parens or brackets in a lot of places...

It is not the only place, so this is a browser problem, not mediawiki.
