Allow non-sysops to tell deleted from suppressed information
Closed, DuplicatePublicFeature

Description

Please improve the transparency in the history, and differ between deleted (for sysops visibile) and suppressed (for sysops invisible) revisions. Sysops and oversights should see in which way the revision/user-name/summary was striked out. "[deleted]" resp. "[suppressed/hidden/whatever]" at the ends of the lines in the history/diffs/logs/contributions/etc. could clarify that.
It strikes me that I've read "[deleted]" once but I cannot remember where. While I tested it on test.wikipedia.org (have a look at the given URL) I couldn't see any differences between the first (deleted) and second (suppressed) revision.

Kind regards
DerHexer

suppressed revisions have a bold show/hide link. For non-Sysops, they are both just seen as "deleted", partly out of WP:BEANS

Would you please share the beans with myself and/or DerHexer -- by private email if needed

It would be easier for non-sysops whom to ask why this or that revision was deleted/suppressed and let them restore if they were mistakenly deleted/suppressed, and for sysops/oversights to filter deleted/suppressed revisions on history, contributions' list etc. to fulfill these requests. It also might help to fix [[bugzilla:20186]] and make clear which revisions are suppressed and which ones just deleted when they are filtered/logged.

Bug 20186 was fixed, is this still needed? I'm not sure I understand what's requested.

DerHexer: Could you answer comment 4, please?

To distinguish between deleted and suppressed revisions. That is not fixed yet, afaics. The reasons I explained above: To enable non-sysops to see whether their edits have been deleted or suppressed.

If this is the point, let's use it as summary. Correct now?
