New Feature request - multi-category timeline links for wikipedia articles
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Author: keferraro

Description:
I am envisioning something that would look like a tapesty or mesh. It would have multipule timelines in various categories like science, music, religion, political, with sub categories for each like Euorpean music, Italian music, composers, instrument makers, european religions, far eastern religions, new world religions, etc. Each Wikipedia article would be linked to one or more timeline(s). When viewing the timeline it can be expanded to show the various lines and one could move up and down the mesh to view articles relating to events that took place in the same time frame. When viewing a specific composer, moving up and down through the same time frame would allow viewing composers of the same time frame, musical styles and compostions of the same time frame, instruments and makers, significant scientific discoveries, political events, events in other regions of the world, etc. In all it would be a way to look at information in the context of historical events and compare events in various regions of the world during the same time frame.

With all due respect, I don't think Bugzilla is the right place for this kind of large-scale feature proposal. This would be better suited to a page on Meta, where the idea can be discussed and developed.
