If you are in a Thread: page and you want to link a specific post, currently you can either: use the "link to" button under "more", but this gives you a link to a page where only that post is included, so you can't scroll up/down to see other posts; or arrive at this page and click the "From ..." link under the page title, which brings you to the thread with an anchor to the post; or search a child post and use "parent" button.
To avoid cluttering the interface and following [[mw:LiquidThreads/Redesign]] and e.g. the interface proposed in [[mw:File:Lqt-thread-full.png]], I would suggest to use that arrows as a place where hovering the mouse would provide you an anchor link to the post, like ¶ links which appears hovering Sphinx page headers (random example: http://docs.python.org/howto/regex.html ).
More problems with relative links: bug 23382, bug 24082; another suggestion for "link to" button in bug 24627.
