This is a configuration issue on the prototype wiki: wikis have to explicitly be configured to accept .svg uploads.

The nastiness of an unlocalized popup error message is in a different bug somewhere.

Reassigning; as noted it's a config issue on the prototype server. If it hasn't been corrected, it should be. (I'm not checking as I don't know the URL to the proper prototype wiki to test this on offhand.)

Well dunno if this ever happened, but UW is deployed on real wikis these days so... don't much care about its prototype demo. ;)
