There must be a nicer way of organising stuff, so it's not execute help, die, falling back to the main to deal with it....

Maybe?

This might well be a WONTFIX type of bug...

By "out of core" I don't mean to an extension

a bit confused by the request. At some point we need to consolidate all help-generation (either for one or for all modules) into one action=help. WONTFIXing it unless I misunderstood.
