Steps to reproduce:

  1. Logged in user navigates to the wikimedia main page. (Mac - Safari 5.0.2, Mac Firefox 3.6.3)
  2. Click on the 'My preferences' link.
  3. Input 'Email' and click on the 'Save' button.

Actual results:
'<email-address-validity-valid>' text displayed next to the 'Email' field only in Mac OS.

You're sure its only Mac OSX this is happening? It should happen everywhere, if its not that might be a bug in the resource loader stuff.

Root cause is r79915 was not merged in 1.17, but r79924 was and it needs r79915.

I tagged the relevant revision 1.17. Also cc'ing catrope on this bug since he seems to be handling merging stuff.

I tested this scenario in Mac Os and Windows XP. This is only happening in Mac for me.

Error is present on linux (with firefox).

The error should only happen when you tab out of the email box (aka onblur). Perhaps on windows you clicked the submit button without first selecting something else on the preferences page (I can't really think what else it could be).

Additionally, I tested with IE6 under emulation in WINE, and error is present (also, the background colour of the notice is not red in IE6, but presumably we no longer care about IE6 (?))

Looks like Catrope merged it. Once prototype is updated it should be fixed.
