The special page Special:AllMessages can filtered by prefix. I have not found a option for the api.

Non-functional patch

Patch to add a new amprefix option. In all honesty this replaces most of the uses of amfilter, including the one in the examples

Note that this patch is compiled against r83664, and is, AFAICT, broken. For context, see my comments on r81469. Once that issue is resolved this patch should work fine.

API stuff usually gets well triaged ;)

Looks good. Minor logic tweak made (you'd inverted it which made it read a little strange)
