Steps to reproduce:

  1. Logged in user access main page of Arabic wiki.
  2. Click on the 'مساهماتي' (My preference) link.
  3. Enter email address and save the changes.

Actual results:
Confirmation email is in English.

What is your Language set to under preferences? I'm pretty sure it got fixed to send in the user language compared to the content language.

(So that people could understand the random emails they got (for example on the wmf sites with autocreated accounts))

People don't get confirmation emails at account autocreation.

and IIRC their language pref is content language by default.

Lowering severity 'major' -> 'minor'

This was fixed ages ago, I just tested on ar.wikipedia.org (with a newly registered account which was autocreated locally with language preference "ar").
