The namespace numbers stay the same. Since the actual names are not stored in the db, as long as the old name is an alias I think everything will turn out fine.

Or actually namespaceDupes.php should be run to check to see if there were any old pages that started with the new namespace name. Based on the api there doesn't really appear to be any.
