Missing formatting on Add Media Wizard when dialogs are disabled
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Missing Formatting

If I go to
[[b:pt:Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets]]
and enable only the gadget
[[b:pt:MediaWiki:Gadget-mwEmbed.js]]
and go to a page such as
https://pt.wikibooks.org/w/index.php?title=Music&action=edit&redlink=1&uselang=en
and click on the Add Media Wizard button, I get a popup with some images but whose formatting is incomplete. See the attached screenshot.

PS: I was using Google Chrome 16.0.912.77, with all other gadgets turned off, and no user script or stylesheets. I was able to reproduce the bug both on http and https, and also on Firefox 9.0.1 (on http and https as well).

Are you using a different skin from default? or anything like that?

I'm using vector skin.

I repeated the test in another wiki:
https://pt.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Music&action=edit&uselang=en
The formatting was normal.

So, I went back to ptwikibooks and:

  1. Clicked on "Restore all default settings".
    • Now the formatting was normal.
  2. On [[Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing]], I changed the options in the "Beta features" sections to:
    • Enable enhanced editing toolbar
    • Enable dialogs for inserting links, tables and more

(i.e., I disabled dialogs)

  1. The formatting disappeared again

I believe this is likely a missing dependency for some CSS file which is loaded by default only if dialogs are enabled.

[According to bug 54063 comment 2, Add Media Wizard is no longer supported and no future work is planned. It has been superseded by UploadWizard.]
