Book Creator won't export to OpenDocument Text (ODT) format
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Ni!

In the Book Creator, when choosing the OpenDocument Text (ODT) output, everything seems to work and it displays a download link, but upon clicking the link, instead of the download starting, nothing happens.

When I choose PDF or ZIM, the book downloads alright.

Tested on en.wikipedia, en.wikiversity and pt.wikiversity.

Hi Al-Scandar Solstag,

can you please provide a little more info. I checked ODT export in en.wikipedia, en.wikiversity and pt.wikipedia and everything worked smoothly. Maybe there is a problem with your browser?

Best,
Christoph

Ni! Thanks Christoph.

I found what was not working.

I was getting the same results with both Firefox 11 and Epiphany 3.2.1 (Webkit engine). They both sent me to a blank page on this url:

http://pt.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Especial:Livro&bookcmd=download&collection_id=402ddb0b7983c46c&writer=odf&return_to=Especial%3ALivro

But then I noticed the blank page on Epiphany was actually a broken plugin initialization.

Which led me to discover a Libreoffice plugin had been enabled on both browsers without my attention, and apparently it does not work properly.

Unless it's something with bookcreator making it not work, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the plugin having problems of its own.

In any case, here's the HTML for the broken plugin page on Epiphany. Firefox really just gives me a blank page, so perhaps this is self-generated by Epiphany:

<html><body marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" bgcolor="rgb(38,38,38)"><embed width="100%" height="100%" name="plugin" src="http://pt.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Especial:Livro&amp;bookcmd=download&amp;collection_id=402ddb0b7983c46c&amp;writer=odf&amp;return_to=Especial%3ALivro" type="application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text"></body></html>

Disabling the plugin makes everything go back to normal.

Thanks again, and sorry for reporting a non issue,

ale
