We can't really rename lists, The best way forward is that a new list will be created (glam/glam-l/whatever) and the memberlist will be copied over then the old one will have its members list cleared out so it can't be posted to, This is so the archives will be kept.

i have created a new list, imported all settings, subscriptions, passwords and redirected the old mail address and siteinfo URL, see above.
there were no archives to import because archiving was not activated before. now it is!
and yes, it is PITA, please use rename requests sparingly!
nevertheless started writing docs on http://wikitech.wikimedia.org/view/Lists.wikimedia.org#Rename_a_mailing_list not finished though
