Description:
Hallo!

bug 3496: [Idea] Including first xx words od article
is describing an attempt to summarise / display parts of a page for a section at
the *Main Page*.

What about having the following mechanism:

a) inside the page there are a few sentences between <intro> and </intro>; these
can be preceded with category and or interlanguage lings stuff or images,
navigation templates (taxoboxes etc.)

{{intro:pAGE}} would be *the* subset of {{nAMEsPACE:pAGEnAME}} between these
tags; everything else would be ignored

if {{intro:pAGE}} would not work as {{subst:pAGE}} for the relevant sentences it
will be a real transclusion and information would not be doubled

{{SERVER}}{{localurl:pAGE|action=intro}} could be a link to the introduction of
the page; I have no ideas how this would relate to caching

I quite like this one, to be honest. Tagging the parts of a page that are
classed as it's introduction, then transcluding it when needed.

Please forgive me if I am mistaken (I lack technical expertise), but it seems
that this extension would be a subset of a the more general feature that I just
submitted at [[bug 5881]].

The more general extension would allow marking off any part of a text to be
individually transcluded elsewhere. It could be enormously useful in many contexts.

The stable extension Labeled Section Transclusion now solves this bug:

It has been applied live at Wikisource wikis.
