I tried adding ['~h', '', 'ಹ'], as a rule and did got ~h transliterated as ಹ. Are you sure d~ha gives ದ್ಹ ? Per rule added d~h gives ದ್ಹ and d~ha gives ದ್ಹಾ

Please tell which of these is correct. If you want d~ha = ದ್ಹ then probably one more rule needs to be modified.

Some more examples:
d~h = ದ್ಹ್
d~ha = ದ್ಹ
d~he = ದ್ಹೆ
d~ho = ದ್ಹೊ

Also, two of key combinations which were there before Narayam implementation are missing;

W = ಔ
Y = ಐ

Please refer "ಸ್ವರಾಕ್ಷರಗಳು (Vowels)" section of help file for transliteration

Please try ಹ್ in place of ಹ( ['~h', '','ಹ್'], )

If I understand correctly, this is a ha with virama. I added it and it seems to work.

are missing;

W = ಔ
Y = ಐ

Changing the bug title to reflect the additional request.

Can you please give some a sample string for unit test for W and Y along with the transliterated input?

ex:- Yeso for ಐಎಸೊ. Are there cases where these characters come in middle of a word and change the glyphs?

Also are these combination standard in kannada transliteration, as 'ai' gives ಐ and 'au' gives 'ಔ' already.

Isn't it good enough to write "nAkaidu" and "gautam"? It produces the same results and it is implemented already.

Are these W and Y letters based on some other transliteration standard or just the old typing script in the Kannada Wikipedia?

Added nAkaidu , auShadhi and gautam also to the test cases. See . https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/9740

Alternate key combinations are fine. But since they are not obvious( in phonetical way) to the users, it must be documented well. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Extension:Narayam/Kannada/Transliteration need some help - First of all it should be in English, and the kannada version should be translated from English version. And it should be updated to reflect this change.

Merged. Thanks for the contribution!

W and Y are added to achieve minimum key stroke. This was there before Narayam implementation.

No

or just the old typing script in the Kannada Wikipedia?

Yes. Old script was fine tuned to balance between phonetical & minimum keys.

Please add these too,
W = ಔ
Y = ಐ
Ydu = ಐದು
kY = ಕೈ
kW = ಕೌ
WShadhi = ಔಷಧಿ
nAkYdu = ನಾಕೈದು
ಗೌತಮ್ = gWtam

W (ಔ) and Y (ಐ) were already there in documentation. I will add about ~h.

~h is working because it was deployed weeks back in 1.20wmf4. The fix for W and Y just got merged and will be deployed in the next deployment window. Mostly next Tuesday
