Gender of changed user groups missing in Special:Log/rights
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Author: wikimedia

Description:
Special:Log/rights shows the gender of a user whose rights have changed. But it doesn't show the gender of the user groups that were changed.

As you can see here ( https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Spezial%3ALogbuch&type=rights&user=FritzG&page=Benutzerin%3ALady+Whistler&uselang=de ), the link to the userpage shows the gender (BenutzerIN), but the user groups are only shown as:

von „Sichter“ auf „Sichter und Administrator“

but it should be:

von „Sichterin“ auf „Sichterin und Administratorin“

Please correct this.

Even though this is assigned to me, I don't have time to work on this anytime soon.

It's not urgent. I just thought it would be a good idea to assign it to you because you have worked on the gender in logs.

Assigning to me since I'm working on it, but I would like to have Gerrit changeset #13632 closed before submitting this fix to avoid possible conflicts.

You can reach this without a merge conflict against gerrit 13632,
see gerrit 14628

You can abandoned that patch, if you think, that is not the right/best way.

I did not see that possibility to get the user name and I was rewriting the whole to log use the LogFormatter class. I will still submit the changeset I prepared, as I said after the other one is closed.

Rewriting the rightslog to use a LogFormatter is the better way, that it right.

The quick fix is merged successfully, so this bug is fixed.

Rewriting the rightslog to use a LogFormatter is still the better way, but that is waiting for review, but this quick fix should not break anything.
