I don't understand, are git hashes even included at all currently? See bug 53335 comment 9.

This report was valid, but due to other changes has become invalid now. :/
For some reason that I yet have to understand, Wikimedia projects' Special:Version is different (and less useful) than the actual MediaWiki core one.
