Provide better access to keyboard mappings
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

To use input methods you need to know the mapping, and there is not easy way to find it. This affects adoption for first-time users.

It can be solved by implementing some of the following aids:

  • For the IME menu, include an option to "show/hide keyboard" (or show/hide mapping) next to the input method that provides an overlay with the appropriate mapping (if it is interactive, it is a keyboard, but it may be just informative). See the Bolnagri option at http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/File:ULS_Editing.png
