The progress bars are added very slowly to the project selector in Firefox. It takes about 10 seconds on my computer to show them all the way up to the bottom on Firefox 17.0.1. It's instant in Chrome and Safari. It takes about 2 seconds in Opera.

Santhosh suggests it's because appendTo() is very slow in Firefox, and that append() should be used.
