Thank you! I was just going to come look for these... now we could use something similar for all data formats.
There don't seem to be any other bugs (of any sort) on mediazilla about data formats, so I include 43151 here for similarity's sake. Feel free to remove it if you don't feel data is 'media' enough.
Note: This was intended in particular as a companion bug for https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/COM:UNSUPPORTED

Oh please not, until you've shown that there's a need for that.
Given that we now have a whole WMF [[mw:Multimedia]] team, I very much doubt this is "Low" priority -> setting to Normal.
Nemo: Good point, thanks!
And for transparency, the Multimedia team will likely handle the following components in Bugzilla:
MediaWiki > File management
MediaWiki > Uploading
MediaWiki extensions > GlobalUsage
MediaWiki extensions > ImageMap
MediaWiki extensions > PageTiffHandler
MediaWiki extensions > PdfHandler
MediaWiki extensions > Score
MediaWiki extensions > TimedMediaHandler
MediaWiki extensions > UploadWizard
There are also the "Cortado" and "mwEmbed" products in Bugzilla but there's not much happening anymore (what to do with their bugs is handled in bug 54063).
What is this tracking task good for?
Shouldn't just all tasks be associated to the corresponding Multimedia projects anyway?
What is this tracking task good for?
Having a curated list, I guess.

Which projects? All tasks should be in a component, sure. As for the Multimedia tag I have no idea what it's used for but I can't even open it.
Apart from T56213,T40416,T18491,T20845,T19505,T4089,T10901 all open tickets listed here under "Blocked By" are associated to the Multimedia project anyway.
Hence proposing to close this "tracking task" as it looks just like unneeded duplication and superseded by the Multimedia project.

Accessing does not require any special permissions and workboard loads here (but takes a while). Not sure what the problem is that you are facing as you don't tell.
in the Bugzilla era, the tracking bug was useful to track (well) all the bugs related to multimedia format support − we link from it on [[COM:UNSUPPORTED]] for example.
The issue I see with folding everything under Multimedia is that you lose preciselt that − this tag might be useful for the team but for otherwise it is just too dense. Can we have a tag for that?
If this is about "Multimedia File Format support", maybe rename this tracking task as a first step? :)
Fair enough, {{done}} :-þ
(To be fair, I would say the bug description was fairly explicit − “Tracking all bugs related to multimedia support : audio or video codecs, file formats.”)
Proposing to decline this "tracking task" as it is extremely vague and does not fulfil any purpose nowadays apart from categorizing for the sake of categorization. There are more focused tasks / tags plus many project tags.
