Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

It's either misleading, suggesting to use a PHP release MW doesn't work with, or no longer relevant.

php version was removed with gerrit 109025 from the message

Nemo: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/109025/1/maintenance/update.php was merged so it doesn't mention an old PHP version anymore.
Does that suffice?

https://translatewiki.net/wiki/MediaWiki:Config-brokenlibxml/en currently says:

Your system has a combination of PHP and libxml2 versions that is buggy and can cause hidden data corruption in MediaWiki and other web applications. Upgrade to libxml2 2.7.3 or later (bug filed with PHP). Installation aborted.

I find the messages still confusing, but that's me. The bug as originally reported by Siebrand looks fixed.
