This extension isn't currently available in Wikimedia Cluster.

I so opened a bug to review and deploy the extension: bug 43982.

During the review process, the following issues have been raised:

  • The extension isn't maintained
  • This is an adaptation of a Wordpress plugin, which isn't maintained either
  • No wiki listed as example or user doesn't currently print tag cloud
  • Supported versions by the extension are 1.14-1.16, we're are 1.21
  • The extension uses Flash and not CSS to render content, allegedly for fonts support
  • The heuristic isn't documented
  • The operations to support I18n seem tedious

This clearly means we can't currently support the installation.

Furthermore, the extension author never replied to a 2011 request of someone willing to take over extension maintainership, so I have no real hope the problems noted are addressed.

I'm so closing this bug as RESO WONTFIX.

Don't hesitate to track bug 43982 to see any development.

It works fine here http://s23.org/wiki/Template:tagcloud without any relevant problem.

Thank you to have found it! I can update my review.

I expected to see it on articles...

Please read this document to understand what we call problems:

I must inform you that after arguing with a steward as a result of problems on it.wikivoyage I are no longer admin of the wiki. I do not know whether this decision will change things but excuse me. I'm sorry.

Note that per our open source policy, we can't allow Flash on our cluster. This is something mandated very firmly by the board.

Nothing: we're enacting configuration changes requested by *the community*, not by your administrator mandate...
