Description

As a VisualEditor plugin inside the extension, provide a visual way for users to create and edit musical scores.

This would be a (very) major undertaking, even if there is an existing JavaScript-based visual Lilypond score editor, or failing that, a visual score editor with a different output format which would need to be converted to Lilypond. A brief search found a few promising leads for ABC editors, but mostly based in Flash.

Still, hopefully not just a pipedream. :-)

Just adding a text editor with a preview button, like e.g. lilybin.com does it, does not sound that hard. I wonder if that could even be a generic fallback option for tag-based parser extensions without a dedicated editor plugin.

Indeed, but this task is asking for a visual drag-and-drop sheet music editor.

That's already provided in VisualEditor.

Note that as of November 2015 there is a nice previewing editor for Scores, but it's still based on the Lilypond or ABC source format rather than a visual one.
