Trying to install MediaWiki 1.19.7...
Can't pass the first screen (Language selection) of the Configuration Script because of PHP error:

My host doesn't allow exec(), passthru() or system().

Mark, you flagged this as needing backport: can you also submit a patch for consideration with the "solution" above? I don't see any other patch mentioned in the wiki threads.
So, I don't have time to work on this but I'm marking it for review here at the hackathon.
Removing target milestone that was in the past.
If you want this in a specific release, have a good reason AND you are willing to find resources to fix this bug, feel free to change it to something appropriate.
